STONY POINT - State Sen. William J. Larkin Jr. has no intention of retiring after nearly 40 years in the Legislature, but one Rockland politician, Tom Basile, is laying the groundwork for a potential campaign with almost $130,000 in contributions should Larkin's plans change.

Basile, a Republican who won re-election to the Stony Point Town Board in 2017 for a second four-year term, has his eye on seeking higher office.

Citizens for Tom Basile has about 140 donors, including prominent contributors like real estate developer Peter Kalikow, Ohio Gov. John Kasich's political action committee and conservative donor Rebekah Mercer, according to public records.
