LOCAL RESIDENTS HURT BY NEW YORK CITY SENATE DEMOCRATS BLOCKING PALM TREE LEGISLATION
Statement from NYS Senate Candidate (SD-39) Tom Basile on the Senate Democrats blocking legislation to accelerate the formation of the Town of Palm Tree:
“Legislation to accelerate the formation of the Town of Palm Tree, which has strong, bi-partisan local support, continues to be held up because extremists in the Senate Democratic Conference tried to amend the bill on the Senate floor yesterday tying it to expanded access for late term abortions. This completely unrelated amendment was sponsored by a Manhattan Democrat, who doesn't care about our needs or values and is only interested in advancing a partisan political agenda.
"Taxpayers in the Hudson Valley can't afford to let New York City Democrats take control of the State Senate. Their actions yesterday demonstrate a clear disregard for the issues that are important to the people of our communities, and anyone who would join their ranks will be beholden to their out-of-touch agenda."
